Well we finally made THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM.
We have both always been fans of Christmas and Ive always sourced great Christmas music to play as family gatherings happen leading up to the big day.
The Snow In The Street represents a long held desire to sing my favourite Carols with our arrangements and explore much loved Christmas songs in our own way.
You will hear folk, jazz and even classical flavours around Classics
We discovered a Vaughn Williams Carol in an old book called the Snow In The Street which involves Church Organ and Marcus and I singing in 4 part harmony. A vocal workout if ever I had one on this track!
As I listen back I am, as always touched by the mastery of Marcus Cliffe’s sensitive and moving arrangements. His original piece written for Willow our lurcher is just gorgeous and the Jazz solo on Have yourself a Merry Xmas, is a real moment of musical class.
I think the whole album shows off what I can do purely as a singer too. I really had to concentrate to deliver these songs, so special to my heart in the best way I could. You can feel my heart as I am genuinely touched by the words which are often signalling the coming into the world of this baby who was to bring such a message of love and forgiveness. Even if you are not a Christian i hope you will feel deeply touched by the authenticity and the love in the songs .
So we hope you enjoy this offering as much as we have enjoyed making it. Even as the sun was shining outside the studio, part of me was longing for the log fire, the tree going up, the first mince pie…oh don’t get me started…Merry Christmas in advance to you all xx love Lucinda
